Primer tutorial!! - First tutorial!!

En 2013 me he portado muy muy bien, y es por eso que los Reyes Magos me regalaron esta preciosidad! Siempre aciertan :)

De ahí surgió la idea del Blog, y de ponerme como una loca a coser!! He de decir que aún no la domino a la perfección, y tengo previsto apuntarme a algún curso de costura para que me enseñen lo básico. Aun así, buscando tutoriales en Internet he encontrado bastantes cosillas muy interesantes, y uno de ellos es este que os pongo a continuación. 

Cuando recibí la máquina de coser, tenía ganas de empezar a coser algo de inmediato. Sin embargo, ¿por dónde empiezo? ¿qué hago? No tenía ideas, abrí el costurero, y pensé que estaría bien personalizarlo un poco... Así que busqué tutoriales sobre acericos/alfileteros. Y encontré este vídeo en el que todas las explicaciones están muy claras y es muy fácil de hacer.

Y este es el resultado! Espero que os guste. Así que ya sabéis, si queréis personalizar vuestro costurero podéis seguir el tutorial y hacerlo vosotros mismos o encargármelo a mi! Hi!!!

As I was such a good girl in 2013, the three wise men gave me this precious gift (pic above)! They're always spot on! :)

That's actually how the Blog idea started. And also it made me want to sew all the time!! I should first say that I don't know how to use it perfectly yet, but I'm planning to take a sewing course soon to learn some of the basic stuff. Even so, I looked for tutorials on the Internet, and found really interesting things, like the one that I will tell you about later.

When I got my sewing machine, I was keen to start asap! But... how do I start? What could I make? I didn't have any ideas, so I opened my sewing box and thought it would be a great idea to have something more personalised. So I looked for tutorials on how to make a pincushion and I found this very easy to follow video where everything is explained very clearly.

And so this (pic above) is the result! Hope you like it. So now you know, if you want to have your own pincushion personalised you can make it yourself or get it from me! You can send me an email asking me for as many as you want and also with the colors or patterns that you prefer. It will be a beatiful unique pincushion!

Un blog... ¿Por qué? - A blog... Why?

Hola a todos!! (Scroll down for English version!!)

Este es mi primer post... Y la verdad que no sé por donde empezar!! Bueno, para empezar os hablaré un poquito sobre mi.

Soy Marta (Seven para los amigos), y para los que no me conocéis, tengo tres pasiones: viajar, la lengua de signos y las manualidades. ¿Y que puedo contar de cada una de ellas?

• Viajar: Estudié turismo. Aunque actualmente no me dedico a ello, he trabajado en diferentes campos dentro de este ámbito. Trabajando en las oficinas de turismo de Madrid aprendí todo lo necesario para disfrutar al máximo esta maravillosa ciudad en la que actualmente vivo y después en el Museo del Prado descubrí esas joyas que todos sabemos que guardan! Intento viajar siempre que la economía me lo permite. Me considero muy afortunada en este sentido y puedo decir que con 25 años conozco casi medio mundo! Bueno medio, medio.. igual algo menos, pero no me puedo quejar!

• La lengua de signos: Sí, soy Intérprete de Lengua de Signos. ¿Igual que el intérprete del funeral de Mandela? Bueno... él.. es un caso aparte. Actualmente, este es mi trabajo, al cual voy con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja cada día. Aprender, disfrutar y ser de gran ayuda a la vez que trabajo es algo muy satisfactorio. Poco a poco iré contando cosillas de esta maravillosa profesión en mi blog. Para empezar, esta soy yo signando!!

• Las manualidades:  Bueno, aquí es donde realmente está el motivo de la creación de este blog. Llevo tiempo pensando en hacer un blog sobre esta temática.. y por fin me he decido!! Iré contando que es lo que yo hago, cómo lo hago, y también los que querías podréis comprar cualquiera de los artículos que enseñe. Hace unos días estuve ordenando mi costurero... y encontré una joyita que os tengo que enseñar!! Mi primera creación, con 7 u 8 añitos, con ayuda del librito que me regaló mi abuela :). 

Podemos decir, que esos fueron mis comienzos.. y a partir de ahí, he hecho de todo! Anillos, broches, collares, accesorios de todo tipo, complementos para la cocina... Poco a poco lo podréis ir viendo!!

Y bueno, de momento, poco más tengo que contar... Ah sí, se me olvidaba! Todas las entradas estarán en español e inglés!! Espero que os guste! :)

ENGLISH VERSION!!

Hi everyone!!

So, this is my first post... and I don't even know where to start!! Well, I'll start by telling you about myself.

I'm Marta (my friends call me Seven), and for those who don't know me, I have three passions: travelling, sign language and crafts. What could I say about the three of them?

• Travelling: I studied tourism. My current job isn't related to this sector, though I've had severals jobs within this field. Working in the tourist offices of Madrid, I discovered how to enjoy this wonderful city  in which I live as much as possible, and after that, I also discovered all those masterpieces that we all know the Prado Museum has when working there!  I try to travel whenever I can, if my finances allow it. I reckon I've been very lucky so far, as I've been able to travel around lots of places! Can't complain!!

• Sign Language: Yes, I'm a sign language interpreter. Like the one at Mandela's funeral? Well... not exactly... So, currently, that's  my job! And I love it. Learning, helping someone that needs it, and enjoying myself at the same time as working is really, really satisfaying. Little by little I'll tell you more things about this great job. To give you an idea of what I do, you can see me signing in the first pic above!! 

• Crafts: This is the main reason for this blog. I've been thinking about writing a blog since some time ago, and finally, here it is! Here I'll be explaining what I make, how I make it, and also you'll be able to buy all my creations if you want to! Some days ago I was sorting my sewing box out...and I found something that I need to show you all. My first creation, when I was only 7 or 8, that I made following the instruccions of that little booklet my grandma gave me (pic above). So, let's say that was my starting point, and since then I've made a bit of everything! Rings, brooches, necklaces, all types of accesories, kitchen stuff... I'll show you everything :)

And so, I think that was everything...Oops, almost forgot! All posts will be written in English and Spanish!! Hope you like it!
